WHY CHURCH PLANTING IN SCOTLAND MATTERS​
Scotland has a rich Christian history, but today many communities have little connection to the gospel and no healthy local church. Some areas have seen church decline for generations.​
​
The Ember Project exists to plant and strengthen churches that are locally led, gospel-centred, and built for long-term presence. Over the next ten years, our goal is to help establish five healthy, reproducing churches across Scotland — rooted in their communities and focused on making disciples who make disciples.
HOW WE BUILD CHURCHES THAT LAST

The Ember Project exists to plant and strengthen healthy, locally led churches across Scotland. We train and send pastors, form church-planting teams, and support revitalisation efforts. Everything we do is shaped by four key priorities:

Long-Term Presence:
​
We commit to patient, sustained ministry. Lasting gospel impact takes time, trust, and faithful presence in the community.
Church-Centered Teams:
​
Pastors and planters are formed, supported, and sent in collaboration with the local church. Shared responsibility and accountability strengthen every ministry.
Local Leadership:
​
We ensure pastors are deeply shaped by the Scottish context. Local leaders and churches help form and guide them so they can communicate the gospel clearly and wisely within their community.
Sustainable Stewardship:​
We manage resources carefully so church leaders can focus on people, discipleship, and community, rather than constant fundraising.
HOW YOUR SUPPORT MAKES IT POSSIBLE
​​The Ember Project is sustained by individuals and churches who share this vision. Your financial partnership directly enables church planting, pastor training, and long-term gospel presence.

Three areas you can support:

General Fund – Supports administration, training, team formation, and operational costs.

Church Planter Support (Scotland) – Provides living support for a pastor and their family so they can focus fully on ministry.

Adopt a Church Plant – Partner with a specific plant through prayer, financial support, short-term teams, and ongoing connection.
